How to Save 200 Images from One Document Without Losing the Order

Manual image downloads break down at scale. Build a portable image package that follows the document order and opens offline with its Markdown.

Saving ten images from a page is annoying. Saving two hundred creates random filenames, a lost order and no reliable link back to the paragraphs.

The useful output is a resource folder that moves, opens and backs up with the Markdown.

Why manual download breaks down

  • Every image requires a separate save action.
  • Filenames may be duplicated or meaningless.
  • The download order does not match the article.
  • Originals, thumbnails and duplicates mix together.
  • Missing images are difficult to detect.

At scale, manual cleanup costs more than the export.

Attachments are not all images

TypeSuggested handling
Inline imagesSave in assets and reference with relative paths
Uploaded filesKeep separately and describe them in the document
PDFs and office filesAvoid inlining them into Markdown
Video and large filesUse a separate resource area or original URL
Images inside tablesCheck them explicitly after export

Not every attachment belongs in one ZIP. Large video and sensitive files may need a separate policy.

Recommended rules:

  1. Number images in document order.
  2. Keep a readable original name when possible.
  3. Use relative Markdown paths.
  4. Keep the paths working after the folder moves.
  5. Confirm images still render offline.

Downloading to a temporary folder and rewriting paths by hand makes the next update repeat the same work.

Two practical methods

Scripted download

A script can handle a one-time developer migration, but it must manage authentication, hotlink protection, duplicate names and Markdown rewriting.

One-click extension export

A browser extension can collect the images during export, order them and package them with the Markdown. Feishu Toolkit’s Markdown with Images ZIP does this and is available as a Pro tool with free trials.

Check the package before relying on it

  1. Compare the image count with the document.
  2. Confirm document order.
  3. Search the Markdown for broken or empty paths.
  4. Open the extracted folder on another device.
  5. Confirm that no restricted image was included accidentally.

When image ZIP is unnecessary

For one or two public images, manual saving is simpler. If you only need Markdown text and not offline images, the free export is enough.

Image ZIP is valuable for batch order and portability. For a tiny document, the extra step is not the point.
